Kelly & Matt

Kelly, Matt, and I started our wild wedding planning adventure back in January of 2019. We were originally scheduled at a different venue on May 2, 2020, then August 17, 2020, and then October 16, 2021. Due to the pandemic and unexpected life circumstances they had to postpone again. After 2 1/2 + years and a venue change, we finally got to host their wedding celebration August 19, 2022, at Los Angeles River Center & Gardens! 90% of our original vendor team rolled with us through the highs and lows, and I’m so thankful that we got to make this special wedding happen.

Matt + Kelly had a beautiful baby named Gal who was the little star of the wedding. Gal had two signature cocktails named in her honor! Kodak and Nova, their beautiful dogs, made an appearance during portraits and were also featured on custom napkins with illustrations of their cute faces. We had custom Star Wars songs charted for Dart Collective’s jazz band to play during the ceremony and cocktail hour. We had a doodle station guest book to honor Matt’s animator background.

Kelly and Matt wanted to have their ceremony and reception around the beautiful fountain at the beautiful LA River Center & Gardens. This required us to have all hands on deck during cocktail hour to flip the space. After the ceremony finished, guests attended cocktail hour in the lawn courtyard. Spotted Hen served delicious cocktails and guests enjoyed an epic grazing station while listening to a live jazz quintet. The team and I quickly moved all of the farm tables, rounds with linens, and chairs into place. Next we placed the flowers, candles, signage, and tabletop rentals for a family-style meal. Guests re-entered the fountain area to enjoy a moody and romantic dinner under string lights. After dinner, we kicked off the party with an Italian group folk dance "Tarantella Napoletana". Guests danced, ate cake and assorted desserts, and enjoyed the Paper Moon Shoppe photo booth.
