Hayley and Chris knew they wanted something joyful, colorful, and deeply personal. Together we crafted a vision: playful, maximalist, old world, eclectic, and connected.

Hayley wore a silk off-the-shoulder Vivienne Westwood gown, its draped bodice and flowing veil understated and elegant against one of the most extraordinary bouquets I have ever seen. Dogwood & Fir created something genuinely painterly: dark burgundy fritillaria, vanda orchids, golden craspedia, caladium leaves, and trailing vines that cascaded like something pulled from a forgotten garden. Chris wore a charcoal three-piece suit. Guided by photographer, Melissa Habegger, they wandered the Paramour's gardens.

The ceremony took place in the lower garden, where a lush arch of coral, peach, and hot pink roses anchored the space in front of the estate's ancient pines and the Paramour's own bougainvillea blazing purple behind it all. Blooms spilled out of pedestals and down the aisle.

After the ceremony, Hayley and Chris stepped out onto the estate's second floor Romeo & Juliet balcony, which was draped in cascading florals, plants, and trailing greenery, and waved to their guests gathered below by the pool. The crowd loved it.

Cocktail hour unfolded on the pool terrace in that golden pre-sunset light, where the estate's stone statues had been crowned and wreathed in vines and blooms. Guests enjoyed craft cocktails, a hydrations station, a seafood bar, canapés, and everyone was well fed. A live performer (dressed as a living garden statue) delighted guests as a live jazz trio played in the background.

At sunset, guests moved to the upper great lawn for dinner. Wine was poured, a beautiful family-style dinner was served, toasts were made, and everyone settled in and enjoyed themselves with the mansion lit up behind them. The tables were set with richly patterned jacquard linens, cane-back chairs, crystal glassware, and centerpieces bursting with peonies, dahlias, chrysanthemums, ranunculus, and garden roses.

After dinner, the evening opened up in the best possible way. Guests explored the salon, speakeasy, ballroom, photo booth den, and pool bar, each space with its own energy. The Dart Collective band kept the dance floor packed all night. We tray passed mini street dogs, and guests had a blast. On the way out, guests stopped at the to-go flower station to take home the blooms, and we sent everyone off at the valet with water, cookies, and a proper goodbye.

Sara + Michael were married at The Paramour Estate in Los Angeles, California. Sara and Michael had their wedding ceremony in front of the grand window in the moody Paramour Mansion ballroom.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour around the pool. They ate freshly shucked oysters, canapés, and sipped craft cocktails and champagne. For dinner, the guests went down to the sprawling Paramour Mansion lawn where a Michelin star chef served them a feast.

After dinner, guests went back to the Paramour Estate ballroom and salon for dancing, coffee, fresh pie, ice cream, and cake. We also had a whiskey tasting option in the hidden speakeasy bar.

We have been planning weddings in Los Angeles since 2013, and The Paramour Estate holds a genuinely special place in our heart. I planned my first wedding there in 2016, and I am still in awe of the property every single time I drive through the gates. There is something about that view, the sprawling lawns, the historic architecture, the way Los Angeles opens up beneath you, that never loses its power.

The estate offers multiple distinct spaces that flow together beautifully across a single wedding day: a lower garden perfect for ceremonies, a pool terrace made for cocktail hours with a view, a sprawling upper great lawn ideal for alfresco dinners, a grand ballroom for dancing, a salon and sunroom for desserts and late-night lingering, a hidden speakeasy bar tucked off the ballroom, and gorgeous bedroom suites where a couple can get ready on the morning of their wedding. Many of our couples also rent overnight accommodations at the property, to wake up on the grounds the morning after their celebration.

The Paramour Estate (formerly known as the Canfield-Moreno Estate and the Paramour Mansion) is perched in the Silver Lake hills, and it is one of those rare Los Angeles venues that genuinely earns the word iconic. Sitting at the highest point in the Los Angeles basin, the views alone are worth the visit! The 22,000-square-foot mansion spreads across 4.5 acres of gardens, terraces, rose gardens, ancient trees, and a pine forest, with the famous mosaic Malibu tile pool at its heart.

The architecture stops you in your tracks every time. Hand-forged iron balconies. Carved stone fire mantles. Antique crystal chandeliers. Deeply carved wood doors with a centuries-old European sensibility. And in the grand ballroom, a soaring hand-painted Italianate ceiling that makes you tilt your head back and just stare. The entire property carries that weight of history without feeling stiff or precious. It is layered and textured and alive in a way that very few spaces are.

Part of what makes The Paramour so extraordinary is the company it keeps. Movies, television shows, music videos, fashion shoots, and reality productions have all filmed here over the years. The estate has a kind of magnetic pull on creative people, which is exactly why my clients fall in love with it.

The Paramour Estate has one of the most layered histories of any property in Los Angeles. Built in 1923 for oil heiress Daisy Canfield and her husband, silent screen star Antonio Moreno, it was dubbed "The Most Beautiful Home in Hollywood" by the tabloids of the era. Over the past century it has been a boarding school, a convent, a boutique hotel, and a filming location for everything from Hollywood movies to reality television. Designer Dana Hollister lovingly restored and stewarded the property for over two decades, filling it with her extraordinary collection of art and antiques.

Now, with celebrated interior designer Ken Fulk at the helm, the newly renovated estate is booking a select number of events beginning October 2026, and I cannot wait to see what this next chapter brings.
